Meet our Founder, Debbie Fontenette

Genetics can only take you so far. By the time I hit 30, I knew that I needed to start doing more for my skin. A childhood and teen life spent in the sun and the waves was starting to catch up with me- and fast. I began experimenting more with skincare and makeup, and that’s when I had an epiphany.
It occurred to me that makeup is not a mask to cover imperfections, but more so to enhance our natural beauty. That our skin should take center stage, not our makeup. That our skin is like the ultimate accessory that we bring out into the world every day and it will be with us a lot longer than a great designer bag. From that moment on it became all about caring for and nourishing my skin.
The more I learned about skin and the most effective ingredients, the more frustrated I became. I wanted healthy, vibrant, juicy, glowing skin, but kept getting products filed with empty promises, made with chemical names I couldn’t pronounce, that cost a fortune. Because of this constant disappointment, I started making my own formulations over 20 years ago, and referred to it as "mixing my lotions and potions". I wanted skincare powerful enough to actually make a difference, gentle enough to use every day, and clean enough so I wouldn’t freak out.
After years of research and experimentation, I knew I had achieved perfection with my formulations and process when I no longer felt the urge to try any other skincare products. As a complete and total skincare fanatic, that is a really big deal. And it's an even bigger deal that I know emphatically that I will never use anything else on my skin again- EVER. I am blissfully and unequivocally in love, and my love for these products only grows stronger, as do my results.
Over the years I have been asked countless times how I keep my skin looking so vibrant, radiant and glowing, and as I have gotten older, I am asked even more frequently. People are hoping it’s one magic product, and whenever I've tried to explain the elements I put together and how to use them, inevitably, after a few minutes their eyes glaze over. I admit, it's a lot of information.
My own grown daughters had often asked me to share my secrets with them as well, so one day on a whim, I decided to make some extra and send it to them. That changed everything. They were absolutely stunned at how bright, even, and healthy it made their skin look almost immediately and pleaded to never be without my lotions and potions again. There was no looking back after that, and Pure Blossom Skin was born.
